Happy 6th Birthday Melia!!

To My Beautiful Melia:

You are six years old now! You are growing up so fast! I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent you to our family and that I get to be your mom.

You are so smart and you pick up on everything so quickly. You continue to amaze me with the new things you learn and share with me. You are very creative and love to make things for me and Daddy and Naiya. You see things going into the recycling bin and pull them out all the time because you see the potential in them to make a game or a house for your dolls or an underwater city for your mermaids. You love clothes and picking out outfits for yourself, Naiya and Aria. I think you would dress me and daddy too if we would let you! Daddy loves you so much! He actually let you paint his nails last week--fingers and toes!

You are silly and funny and love to laugh. It is so much fun to play with you. You are very kind and you care about others. You always volunteer to help me with whatever I need and you like to help Naiya and Aria too. You love your little sisters and have so much fun with them. They are blessed to have such a wonderful big sister. You love to dance and do Karate and you catch on really quickly to everything they teach you.

My wish for you is that you will know and feel how special you really are and that there is a great purpose for your life. You will be a ray of sunshine in many people's lives.

So on Friday, Melia comes home from school with wet socks in her backpack.  On her feet, she is wearing her gloves and tennis shoes.  Turns out she stepped in a puddle at recess.  Very resourceful. :)

By the way, for anyone counting, I'm now 9 days past my due date.  I've been on "bed rest" trying to get over a head cold and sore throat.  So fun.  Thanks Bo for stepping in and taking over everything for me!

Oh Where Oh Where Have My Feet Gone??

I have no idea. I haven't seen them in months!

I haven't blogged in so long, I'm not even going to try to catch up. Malakai is due to come tomorrow! We'll see if he's ready or not. :)

Happy 4th!

This year our friends had a block party/BBQ, so we chowed down with all of our neighbors and set off a ton of fireworks!


Finding red, white and blue outfits for them to wear was no easy task. I never realized how much their closet is a sea of pink and purple!


This was the first year since we've had kids that we've actually set off our own fireworks. Melia was scared to hold the sparklers at first, but once she figured out that they really do go out before they burn your hand, she loved them! Jeananne became her sparkler "dealer". The second one went out, she went back for another. She must have done over 20 of them herself!


Naiya did really well with everything. I thought she might be scared of the loud ones, but she stayed entertained all the way til 9:30! (The next day wasn't so happy with two tired kiddos, but it was worth it.)

I'm On My Own

Well, Bo just left on a 4 day camp out with the scouts this morning, so it's just me and the kids and the big German Shepherd we are dog sitting left here at home. I had no idea what it meant to be Scout Master when he got this calling, but they say it's the second busiest calling in the church next to being Bishop and I believe it! I have never seen him so busy with a calling before. He's doing a great job, but I find myself alone with the kids a lot. Not that I don't love my kids, but I have come to greatly appreciate the help that Bo gives me when he's here.


The girls crawled into one of the leftover sleeping bags tonight to read stories before bed. They look very calm in the picture, but there was more wrestling, giggling, screaming and craziness than actual reading going on. But now they are in bed and I am wiped out. I think this calls for watching a little "So You Think You Can Dance".
